DESIRE: THE NEW BIKER JACKET

LOOK AT THE POSSIBILITIES. IT'S A GREEN BIKER.

Anyone who knows ME knows you can't keep ME from a good biker jacket for long. And this, this is such a good one, from H&M's mens Spring 2013 collection, I kinda need this in my life. And here's why.

So let's examine the possibilities here. I wear the jacket, sweat like mad come march but look like a slightly (a lot) bigger Danny Zuko with a printed shirt and cuffed baggy trousers. So basically, grease meets homeless person but hey that's always my look so don't knock it. Also, don't think I need to examine the other option. The option making is this: TO RUN FOR AIR-CONDITIONING... But also look at your phone and clutch your bag while running. You know, just in case Tommy Ton is nearby... he looks asian, you never know.

TUTORIAL THURSDAYS: MIU MIU INSPIRED GLITTER BROGUES

Sorry to keep you waiting you P.L.Ts, this week's tutorial is worth it's weight (wait) in glitter. A good friend of mine, Joanna, or Jo for short came to me with a fashion 911. She'd ruined her lovely brogues and wanted to do something with them cos' they were too good toss. So here's the solution: glitter. But isn't that the solution to everything else though?

TUTORIAL THURSDAYS: DRIES VAN NOTEN INSPIRED TOTE

When I think of Dries Van Noten the first thing that always pops in is that iconic large check that he does so well exhibit A, above. And also, if you remember a few seasons back he was in to the whole batik, ikat thing and in the spirit of that movement I've taken the liberty of combining those ideas in this DIY. For this tote, I employed a japanese tie dye technique known as shibori, which is fancy-pants for well... fancy-pants tie dye.

Hello there my pluckie duckies! Another week, another tutorial. On this lovely thursday, turn your attention to this Celine Spring 2012 cuff. A beauty isn't she? Spotted her at the ngee ann city store here in singapore for something like $800, ie: not as friendly to the wallet as it is to the eye. Here's a quick, simple tutorial to get the same look for much less moolah.

It's so last season... Ok I don't really care and neither should you. Gorgeous Raf Simons shoes will always be gorgeous Raf Simons shoes. But at over a thousand dollars I'd probably need to wait a few more season, when they've been re, re-marked down before I even consider calling them my own. BUT WAIT. What is that you say? DIY to the rescue? Indeed, indeed.

You know that saying "Everyone needs a little Alexander Wang in their lives"? Never heard of it? Well you ought to, it's new, I made it up. Speaking of, I've eyed these utterly lust-worthy Alexander Wang sunnies for THE longest time. With the zipper detail it's just the right amount of edgy for me. And OMG are they cool.

BEHIND THE SCENES AT: ZAC POSEN FALL & PRE-FALL 2012 AT AFF

Who isn't a Zac fan? I mean come on! Even if you aren't a "fashion person" you should still look at his gowns and at least go: "OOH PRETTY!" Well maybe that's an understatement too though. Having sat in at the castings, fitings, cast-fittings for the show and being able to look and touch the pieces up close was such a dream! Every pleat, fold, tuck is done with such precision and intent. Ok but enough of the technical talk, these clothes actually look good on women and by women I don't just mean the 1% of the gender that look like giraffes... in heels... in gowns... in makeup. I'm talking about real women here!  The way every piece is built - You don't need a body, go to Zac, he'll give you one.

Did I also mention, Zac Posen's team gave most of the bigger gowns names? I LOVED that! Here's how it goes:- If it's been worn by a celebrity, the dress takes the wearer's name like the teal Number Kelly Osbourne was in is known plainly as Kelly Osbourne. And the rest are descriptive, like the one above is called 'big red'. How totally adorable is that!

EVENTS: BACKSTAGE AT AFF, MUGLER FALL 2012

So I've just woken up from a record snooze-athon after the INSANE week that was AFF, The Audi Fashion Festival. It was BRR-UUU-TAL. Seriously, I don't know how the people at Mercury do it. So this year, once again I got the amazing opportunity to serve as a chaperone (read:bitch) to the international designers who came down for this week long affair. First up, was Nicola Formichetti, Creative Director of MUGLER. I was assisting Dinie of OneSixtyNotepad for the day, apparently he needed reinforcements, well clearly since he was too busy being Nicola's BFF. Okay I'm starting to sound like Taylor from the Rachel Zoe Project, whoops!

So I stayed with the MUGLER team assisting them with whatever, including making a run to the wholesale centre (thank god it was right next to the office!) to get a hidden zipper. When I wasn't being the errand bitch, I died being a slightly oversized fly on a very fabulous wall, occasionally snapping a candid shot, while trying to avoid looking like a perv. Models slipped in and out of 8-inch high Louboutins, with an army of dressers working to get on ONE outfit. Some of these pieces had so many snaps and little zips in all sorts of places, you wouldn't even believe it. Kinda like surgery, but not really.
